Gregory W. Edwards, EdD
Executive Director
|
Over several years, Greg amassed a great deal of professional experience as a trainer, an administrator, and an organization development specialist/management consultant in a broad spectrum of organizations. While his most recent work has been primarily in the areas of HIV/AIDS community healthcare; he gained practical work experience in Ivy League institutions as a chief administrator, in high-tech and financial corporations as an executive management development specialist, and in government as a professional management consultant and trainer.
Clearly, Greg Edwards has established an outstanding track record as a developer of people, projects, and processes. He is both an excellent public speaker and a productive fundraiser. Edwards served actively on the San Francisco HIV-CARE Planning Council; developed minority community organizations as the Pacific-West regional HIV Resource Specialist awarding funds earmarked by the United States Congressional Black Caucus and administered by the Assistant Surgeon General; and consulted with the New England chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peoples (NAACP) in addressing issues related to HIV/AIDS education and prevention programming for underserved, African-American communities.`
Having graduated from Harvard University with masters and doctoral degrees, prior to coming to the Foundation, Greg served as Vice-President of Health Services Administration for the nation's largest community-based HIV/AIDS organization in New York City.
As Executive Director of the Flowers Heritage Foundation, Edwards brings a passion for results and productivity. He is diplomatic, sensitive and compassionate and holds a reliable expectation for achieving excellence in outcomes.
Greg serves on the Board of Directors for Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA), a U.S.-based organization, located in New York City, comprised of and for private philanthropic institutions concerned about, engaged in or potentially active in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
